Apple has four different icons in the iPhone<\/strong> status bar to denote\u00a0that you are using 5G that depends in the operator :<\/p>\n

Verizon<\/strong> uses 5G UW<\/strong> to note mmWave<\/strong> and other high-frequency 5G connections, AT&T<\/strong> uses 5G+, and T-Mobile labels it 5G UC (ultra capacity).<\/p>\n

If you see the plain \u201c5G\u2019 in your status bar, that\u2019s signaling you\u2019re on the lower spectrum 600\/700\/800 witg greater range and coverage, slower speeds comparatively.<\/p>\n

If you would like to turn of or turn off 5G in iphone below are the diffrent steps :<\/p>\n

  1. Head to the\u00a0Settings app<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0on your iPhone (5G available on iPhone 12, 13, and SE 3)<\/li>\n
  2. Tap\u00a0Cellular<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Choose\u00a0Cellular Data Options<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Tap\u00a0Voice & Data<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. With 5G Auto as the default, you can choose\u00a05G On<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0to use it anytime it\u2019s available for faster speeds<\/li>\n
  6. Alternatively, if you want to turn 5G off completely, tap\u00a0LTE<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(gives better battery life)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You can also tap Data Mode in the cellular settings and pick\u00a0Allow More Data on 5G<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0for higher quality video for streaming and things like FaceTime. And the opposite,\u00a0Low Data Mode<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0for when you want to conserve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
