{"id":3870,"date":"2024-02-22T11:25:03","date_gmt":"2024-02-22T11:25:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.5gworldpro.com\/?p=3870"},"modified":"2024-02-22T11:25:03","modified_gmt":"2024-02-22T11:25:03","slug":"4-different-types-of-srb-in-5g-new-radio-nr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.5gworldpro.com\/?p=3870","title":{"rendered":"4 different types of SRB in 5G New Radio (NR)"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>SRB stands for Signaling Radio Bearer.\u201dSignalling Radio Bearers\u201d (SRBs) are defined as Radio Bearers (RBs) that are used only for the transmission of RRC and NAS messages.As defined per 3GPP specification TS38.331,\u00a0 there are four different types of SRB in 5G New Radio (NR) defined as follows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SRB 0 <\/strong>is for RRC messages using the CCCH logical channel;<\/li>\n<li><strong>SRB1 <\/strong>is for RRC messages as well as for NAS messages prior to the establishment of SRB2, all using DCCH logical channel;<\/li>\n<li><strong>SRB2 <\/strong>is for NAS messages, all using DCCH logical channel.
