Vodafone spain, in partnership with CATEC, has made the<\/span>\u00a0very first trip\u00a0of a 5G drone in the frequency of 700Mhz in the ATLAS center<\/span>\u00a0situated in the district of Villacarrillo (Ja\u00e9n) making use of\u00a0the coverage of the 5G node that has been<\/span>\u00a0switched on for this purpose.<\/p>\n

This use case is part of the project “5G Andalusian<\/span>\u00a0Pilot” Promoted by the Ministry of Economic Climate and Company, covering a total 32 5G use cases.<\/p>\n

The trial comes after Vodafone have obtained\u00a02x10MHz blocks of spectrum in July’s<\/span>\u00a0public auction of 5G-compatible frequencies.<\/p>\n

The drone, equipped with a Data SIM, has actually\u00a0made a flight beyond the line of<\/span>\u00a0view at low altitude, managed at all times and also\u00a0monitored remotely with the operator’s fifth-generation<\/span>\u00a0network.\u00a0The device\u00a0incorporates\u00a0protocol-based software for unmanned air\u00a0traffic management and allows remote operation\u00a0via\u00a0the 700 MHz 5G band and the transmission of<\/span>\u00a0high quality pictures in real time demonstrating that 5G innovation is a Basic\u00a0enabler for long-distance drone operations, <\/span>in both Urban and Rural Areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
