{"id":4884,"date":"2021-10-15T09:06:34","date_gmt":"2021-10-15T09:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.5gworldpro.com\/?p=4884"},"modified":"2021-10-15T09:06:34","modified_gmt":"2021-10-15T09:06:34","slug":"google-distributed-cloud-infrastructure-for-telcos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.5gworldpro.com\/?p=4884","title":{"rendered":"Google : distributed cloud infrastructure for telcos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google revealed a new suite of Distributed Cloud solutions targeting mainly telcos with an edge offering capable of running 5G network functions and enterprise applications closer to users.<\/p>\n<p>This new portfolio includes two offerings:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Google Distributed Cloud Edge product aimed at telcos<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Google Distributed Cloud Hosted, which is meant for public-sector and commercial customers that need to meet strict data residency, security or privacy requirements<\/p>\n<p>Both are fully managed comprising both hardware and software solutions, including artificial intelligence and analytics capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Google Cloud\u2019s VP and GM of Open Infrastructure Sachin Gupta said the idea is to allow \u201ccustomers to focus on applications and business initiatives rather than the management of their underlying infrastructure. In other words, they just leave the complexity to us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Distributed Cloud offerings can run across Google&#8217;s network of more than 140 network edge locations, allowing operators to run 5G core and radio access network functions closer to users, to slash latency and \u201coffer their enterprise customers high-speed bandwidth, with private 5G and localized compute.<\/p>\n<p>Google Distributed Cloud Edge is actually available in preview, with Google Distributed Cloud Hosted set to become available in preview in the first half of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Google revealed a new suite of Distributed Cloud solutions targeting mainly telcos with an edge offering capable of running 5G network functions and enterprise applications closer to users.
