AWS announced on 30\/11 the preview of \u201cAWS Private 5G,\u201d which is a new service that aims to make it easy to deploy and manage your own private network.<\/p>\n

The launch is meant to address the challenges companies are facing with leveraging 5G. AWS CEO Adam Selipsky said that with AWS Private 5G, you can set up and scale a private mobile network in days instead of months.<\/p>\n

Selipsky stated that \u00ab \u201cYou get all the goodness of mobile technology without the pain of long planning cycles, complex integrations and the high upfront costs \u00bb<\/p>\n

A private network can be configured on the AWS console. Customers specify where they want to build a mobile network and the network capacity needed for their devices. AWS then delivers and maintains the small cell radio units, servers, 5G core and radio access network (RAN) software, as well as the SIM cards need to connect devices to the network.<\/p>\n

Selipsky outlined that\u00a0AWS Private 5G automates the setup and deployment of the network and scales capacity on-demand to support additional devices and increased network traffic. There are no upfront fees or per-device costs with AWS Private 5G, and customers pay only for the network capacity and throughput they request.<\/p>\n

The service is designed to simplify the network deployment, allowing customers to rely on tools they already know from Amazon’s cloud services. The preview is available to start in the US, where Amazon has already been\u00a0working with Verizon\u00a0on similar services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
