German carmaker Volkswagen will build its own 5G network in the production plants from 2020, a spokesperson for the company said, WiWo.de reports. A tender to choose the supplier of the technology is currently ongoing, the report added. Daimler and BMW also intend to build a 5G network in the productions plants.
Siemens, BAFS and Airbus also wants to build their own 5G network. Siemens and Bosch have already carried out 5G network tests in selected production plants.
