Regarding network functions required for 5G slicing support :
- Mandatory 5G Core network functions are AMF/SMF/UPF/AUSF/UDM/NRF.
- The dedicated Network Slice Selection Function (NSSF) is used for slice selection, with operator policies, when several slices are used.
Regarding specific features for use cases requirements using a specific slice type:
- For the use case URLLC, some features in the RAN and Core could be activated.
- For IoT related use cases some features on the energy saving or specific communication for short message are used.
