- QoS differentiation can discriminate between different types of traffic but cannot discriminate and differentially treat the same type of traffic coming from different sources.
- QoS differentiation does not have the ability to perform E2E traffic isolation
On the other hand:
- 5G slicing along with Qos is able to discriminate between the same types of traffic coming from different tenants/slices.
- Network slicing allows multiple logical networks to run on top of a shared physical network infrastructure, providing isolation between them
So we have a deeper granularity: The same traffic flow withQoS Flow ID= 6 is treated in a different way according to the slice to which it belongs as show in figure above
